List of Harry's Songs

Home ] Photographs ] Biography ] Songs ]

The songtitles listed here I have found by searching the British Library website (BL) at   http://blpc.bl.uk/  and the Bodleian Library (Oxford) website (BOD) at http://library.ox.ac.uk

The others songtitles listed as 'Misc' are titles I have found in my researching travels or titles that have been sent to me by other researchers/historians and I would thank Max Tyler of the British Music Hall Society in particular for his contributions and advice.

You will see that Harry did not always write alone and I have listed co-authors as well where I have found them, as well as details of artistes who originally performed the titles where known.

Most of Harry's songs he sold to others who then published under their own names so many of his songs we do not even know.

A lot of the obituaries written about Harry at the time of his death incorrectly attributed the songs 'Boiled Beef and Carrots' and 'Any Old Iron' to him, I have been reliably informed that these two songs were certainly not the work of Harry Wincott.  Please be aware that any information in the articles reproduced on this website is as it was produced at the time and if using any of this information it should be verified accordingly.

Titles in capitals and a different colour indicate a link to the actual lyrics of the song just click on the title to see them.
